Although locals may consider Argegno a sleepy town, it is in fact a popular tourist destination.
It's secluded location, backed by a tall-rising, majestic mountain offers superb views of the lake and an incredibly picturesque town. Some tourists, choose Argegno only as a passing-by town to get to ski-lifts and mountain trails nearby, or as a lunch stop for those enjoying the slow ferry ride up and down the lake.
From Milano, you can take a train to Como and then take the C10 bus to Argegno.
For some shade on hot summer days, walk down closer to the lake and enjoy the cool breezes created by the rooftops joining houses between streets.
There are a few lovely, family-run hotels right on the lake with clean rooms and extra-friendly service. The selection is even quite good for a town of its size, and you are bound to get stellar service for choosing Argegno over the more popular towns of Como, Menaggio and the mercurial Bellagio.

The churches are indeed very memorable in Argegno, like the Sanctuary of Sant'Anna built in the seventeenth century and the even older, fifteenth century The Oratory of San Rocco in Pigra which you can get to by taking the low-cost cable car.
In Pigra, you can enjoy even more spectacular views of the lake at a height of 880 meters!
