The Windsurfing Capital

The La Breva winds have created ideal conditions for water sports enthusiasts in Domaso, Italy.

Domaso is the hot-spot of Lake Como’s northern end. Young people abound as numerous watersport opportunities such as windsurfing, swimming, sailing, fishing unite with great nightclubs, restaurants and bars and the town remains vibrant all throughout the day and night.

From Milano, you can take a train to Como and then take the C10 bus to Domaso. From Bergamo, you can take a train to Colico and then the C10 bus in the opposite direction (towards Como).

Domaso hotels tailor more to the younger crowd on a budget and offer many once and two star hotels. For greater amenities, you may prefer renting an apartment which may turn out to be even more cost-effective.

If you ever want to take a break from windsurfing or bathing on the beach, you can visit the beautiful frescoes found in the Town Hall which was one an important villa (Villa Camilla).

But there is more to this village on the west-side of the northern end-of Lake Como than initially meets the eye.

Many campgrounds can be located around Domaso and many of them can become quite full during the summertime months. It is certainly a very popular place to camp out. The town tends to tailor to the younger crowds due to its strong focus on windsurfing. There are also numerous fun nightclubs in town as a result.
