Stunning facade of Lecco’s famous basilica whose origins date all the way back to the 7th century when the local people converted to Christianity from Arianism.
This church has interesting stuccowork and frescoes dating from the 17th century.
Santa Maria del Tiglio, Gravedona
A Romanesque church built from black and white marble dating from the 12th century. The interior is quite creepy and rather gloomy but extremely interesting to visit.
Requires a 30 minute uphill walk from Dongo but well worth the beautiful panoramic view of northern Lake Como you get from the top.
Church of San Stefano and San Battistero, Lenno
This church has a unique octagonal shape and an underground crypt dating from the 11th century.
One of the rare 17th century churches built in Spanish style. It requires a bit of an uphill walk from Menaggio, Italy.
Located close to the town’s central square, this beautiful 16th century church has a silver processional cross and paintings and frescoes from the 15th and 16th centuries.
